Welcome
to the TENNESSEE COUNCIL OF
DELIBERATIONS web site. Tennessee has a rich Scottish Rite
history, with the Council of Deliberations now preparing to
celebrate its fifty sixth year. Tennessee has a unique arrangement
to its Council of Deliberations with its three divisions.
Tennessee being a State
of considerable length, it was decided to have 3 Sectional Councils
of Deliberations, East, Middle and West. The Deputy appoints an Area
Coordinator for each Section who coordinates activities between the
Consistories in that area. The Deputy maintains close communication
with the Coordinators and schedules a visit to each division at
least once per year. Each Consistory has an opportunity to host the
Sectional Council of Deliberations session. The sessions are not
restricted to members of that section and the Fraters often attend
sessions in the other divisions. Additionally, the Tennessee State
Council of Deliberations is held each year in conjunction with the
Grand Lodge session.
Our web site is new and in the early stages of development. We will
be constantly working to increase its potential to share information
and communicate with those within our Orient as well as those that
are not. Likewise, we in the Orient of Tennessee will continue to
work toward building Scottish Rite Masonry within our borders so as
to ultimately promote Scottish Rite Masonry within our United
Supreme Council.
Light is Knowledge and
Masonry is a never ending journey for those that continue to seek
further light. In the Holy Writ, Proverbs tells us that… “A
generous man will prosper; he who refreshes will himself be
refreshed.” I interpret that to mean that if a man has wisdom
and knowledge and shares his wisdom with others, he will in turn
become wiser. For those of us that have advanced or been elevated in
Scottish Rite Masonry, it is our duty to lead, guide and instruct
those that have not attained what some might term, exalted rank. Let
us use all of our resources to reach out to the unlearned, the under
privileged and those that are just seeking further light.
I hope you enjoy our
site and will visit often. Don’t forget to sign the guest book and
let us know what you think.
Spes Mea In Deo Est,
G.I.G. Arvin W. Glass 33o
Illustrious Grand Deputy for Tennessee
